Provérbios 8

1Por acaso a sabedoria não clama, e a inteligência não solta sua voz?

1Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

2Nos lugares mais altos, junto ao caminho, nas encruzilhadas das veredas, ela se põe.

2She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

3Ao lado das portas, à entrada da cidade; na entrada dos portões, ela grita:

3She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

4Varões, eu vos clamo; dirijo minha voz aos filhos dos homens.

4Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

5Vós que sois ingênuos, entendei a prudência; e vós que sois loucos, entendei de coração.

5O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

6Ouvi, porque falarei coisas nobres; e abro meus lábios para a justiça.

6Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

7Porque minha boca declarará a verdade; e meus lábios abominam a maldade.

7For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

8Todas as coisas que digo com minha boca são justas; não há nelas coisa alguma que seja distorcida ou perversa.

8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

9Todas elas são corretas para aquele que as entende; e justas para os que encontram conhecimento.

9They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

10Aceitai minha correção, e não prata; e o conhecimento mais que o ouro fino escolhido.

10Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

11Porque a sabedoria é melhor do que rubis; e todas as coisas desejáveis nem sequer podem ser comparadas a ela.

11For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

12Eu, a Sabedoria, moro com a Prudência; e tenho o conhecimento do conselho.

12I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

13O temor ao SENHOR é odiar o mal: a soberba e a arrogância, o mal caminho e a boca perversa, eu os odeio.

13The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

14A mim pertence o conselho e a verdadeira sabedoria; eu tenho prudência e poder.

14Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

15Por meio de mim os reis governam, e os príncipes decretam justiça.

15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

16Por meio de mim os governantes dominam; e autoridades, todos os juízes justos.

16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

17Eu amo os que me amam; e os que me buscam intensamente me acharão.

17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18Bens e honra estão comigo; assim como a riqueza duradoura e a justiça.

18Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

19Meu fruto é melhor que o ouro, melhor que o ouro refinado; e meus produtos melhores que a prata escolhida.

19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

20Eu faço andar pelo caminho da justiça, no meio das veredas do juízo;

20I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

21Para eu dar herança aos que me amam, e encher seus tesouros.

21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

22O SENHOR me adquiriu no princípio de seu caminho; desde antes de suas obras antigas.

22The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23Desde a eternidade eu fui ungida; desde o princípio; desde antes do surgimento da terra.

23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24Quando ainda não havia abismos, eu fui gerada; quando ainda não havia fontes providas de muitas águas.

24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25Antes que os montes fossem firmados; antes dos morros, eu fui gerada.

25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26Quando ele ainda não tinha feito a terra, nem os campos; nem o princípio da poeira do mundo.

26While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27Quando preparava os céus, ali eu estava; quando ele desenhava ao redor da face do abismo.

27When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28Quando firmava as nuvens de cima, quando fortificava as fontes do abismo.

28When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29Quando colocava ao mar o seu limite, para que as águas não ultrapassassem seu mandado; quando estabelecia os fundamentos da terra.

29When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30Então eu estava com ele como um pupilo; e eu era seu agrado a cada dia, alegrando perante ele em todo tempo.

30Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31Alegrando na habitação de sua terra; e concedendo meus agrados aos filhos dos homens.

31Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

32Portanto agora, filhos, ouvi-me; porque bem-aventurados serão os que guardarem meus caminhos.

32Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

33Ouvi a correção, e sede sábios; e não a rejeiteis.

33Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

34Bem-aventurado é o homem que me ouve; que vigia em minhas portas diariamente, que guarda as ombreiras de minhas entradas.

34Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35Porque aquele que me encontrar, encontrará a vida; e obterá o favor do SENHOR.

35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

36Mas aquele que pecar contra mim fará violência à sua própria alma; todos os que me odeiam amam a morte.

36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
