Romanos 10

1Irmãos, o bom desejo do meu coração, e a oração que faço a Deus por Israel, é que sejam salvos.

1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2Pois lhes dou testemunho de que eles têm zelo por Deus, mas não com entendimento.

2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3Pois, como ignoraram a justiça de Deus, e procuraram estabelecer a sua própria justiça, eles não se sujeitaram à justiça de Deus.

3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4Porque o fim da Lei é Cristo, para justiça de todo aquele que crê.

4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5Pois Moisés descreve a justiça que é pela Lei: “A pessoa que praticar estas coisas viverá por elas”.

5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6Mas a justiça que é pela fé assim diz: “Não digas em teu coração: ‘Quem subirá ao céu?’ (Isto é, trazer Cristo abaixo),

6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7ou: ‘Quem descerá ao abismo?’” (Isto é, trazer Cristo dentre os mortos).

7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8Porém, o que diz? “A palavra está perto de ti, na tua boca, e no teu coração”. Esta é a palavra da fé, que pregamos.

8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9Pois, se com a tua boca declarares que Jesus é Senhor, e em teu coração creres que Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos, serás salvo.

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10Pois com o coração se crê para a justiça, e com a boca se confessa para a salvação.

10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11Porque a Escritura diz: “Todo aquele que nele crê não será envergonhado.”

11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12Pois não há diferença entre judeu e grego, porque um mesmo é o Senhor de todos, rico para todos os que o invocam.

12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13Pois: “Todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo.”

13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14Mas como invocarão aquele em quem não creram? E como crerão naquele de quem não ouviram? E como ouvirão, sem haver quem pregue?

14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15E como pregarão, se não forem enviados? Como está escrito: “Como são agradáveis os pés dos que anunciam o evangelho da paz, dos que anunciam as boas novas!”

15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16Mas nem todos obedeceram ao evangelho, pois Isaías diz: “Senhor, quem creu na nossa pregação?”

16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17Portanto, a fé vem pelo ouvir, e o ouvir pela palavra de Deus.

17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18Mas pergunto: por acaso não ouviram? Sim, certamente. Pois: “Sua voz saiu por toda a terra, e suas palavras até os confins do mundo.”

18But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

19Mas pergunto: por acaso Israel não entendeu? Primeiramente Moisés disse: “Eu vos provocarei ciúmes com os que não são do povo; com uma nação insensata vos provocarei à ira.”

19But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20E Isaías ousou dizer: “Fui achado pelos que não me buscavam; fui revelado aos que por mim não perguntavam.”

20But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

21Mas sobre Israel diz: “Todo o dia estendi as minhas mãos a um povo rebelde e hostil.”

21But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
