Romanos 2

1Por isso, tu, que julgas, não tens desculpa; quem quer que sejas! Pois condenas a ti mesmo naquilo que julgas o outro, porque tu, que julgas, fazes as mesmas coisas.

1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2E sabemos que o julgamento de Deus é segundo a verdade sobre os que fazem tais coisas.

2But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3E tu, humano, que julgas os que praticam tais coisas, ao fazê-las, pensas que escaparás do julgamento de Deus?

3And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4Ou desprezas tu as riquezas de sua bondade, tolerância, e paciência, ignorando que é a bondade de Deus que te conduz ao arrependimento?

4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5Mas, conforme a tua dureza e o teu coração que não se arrepende, tu ajuntas ira para ti no dia da ira e da manifestação do justo julgamento de Deus,

5But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

6que recompensará a cada um segundo as suas obras:

6Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7vida eterna aos que procuram glória, honra, e imortalidade, fazendo o bem com perseverança;

7To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8mas indignação e ira aos que agem com egoísmo, obedecendo à injustiça, e não à verdade.

8But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9Haverá aflição e angústia a toda pessoa que pratica o mal, primeiramente ao judeu, e também ao grego;

9Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10porém, glória, honra, e paz, a todo aquele que pratica o bem, primeiramente ao judeu, e também ao grego;

10But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11porque com Deus não há acepção de pessoas.

11For there is no respect of persons with God.

12Pois todos os que sem Lei pecaram, sem Lei também perecerão; e todos os que pecaram sob a Lei, pela Lei serão julgados;

12For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13porque não são os que ouvem a Lei que são justos diante de Deus, mas sim, os que praticam a Lei que serão justificados.

13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14Pois quando os gentios, que não têm a Lei, praticam naturalmente as coisas que são da Lei, estes, ainda que não tenham a Lei, são lei para si mesmos.

14For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15Eles mostram a obra da Lei escrita em seus corações, dando-lhes testemunho juntamente a sua consciência, e os pensamentos, ora acusando-os, ora defendendo-os.

15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

16Isso acontecerá no dia em que Deus julgará os segredos dos seres humanos por meio de Jesus Cristo, conforme o meu Evangelho.

16In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

17Eis que tu, que és chamado de judeu, e descansas confiando na Lei, e te orgulhas em Deus,

17Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,

18conheces a vontade dele, e aprovas as melhores coisas, por seres instruído na lei;

18And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

19e confias ser guia dos cegos, luz dos que estão nas trevas,

19And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

20instrutor dos tolos, professor das crianças, e que consideras a lei como a forma do conhecimento e da verdade;

20An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.

21tu, pois, que ensinas ao outro, não ensinas a ti mesmo? Tu que pregas que não se deve furtar, furtas?

21Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

22Tu que dizes que não se deve adulterar, adulteras? Tu que odeias os ídolos, profanas templos?

22Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

23Tu, que te orgulhas da Lei, pela transgressão da Lei desonras a Deus;

23Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

24porque, como está escrito: “O nome de Deus é blasfemado entre os gentios por vossa causa”.

24For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

25Pois a circuncisão tem proveito de fato se guardares a Lei; porém, se tu és transgressor da Lei, a tua circuncisão se torna incircuncisão.

25For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

26Ora, se o incircunciso obedecer às exigências da Lei, por acaso não será a sua incircuncisão considerada como circuncisão?

26Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

27E se o que de natureza é incircunciso cumprir a Lei, ele julgará a ti, que mesmo com a norma escrita e a circuncisão és transgressor da Lei.

27And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

28Pois judeu não é o de aparência externa, nem circuncisão é a na carne,

28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29mas é judeu o que é no interior, e circuncisão é a de coração, no espírito, e não em uma norma escrita. Esse é elogiado não pelas pessoas, mas sim, por Deus.

29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
