1Salmo 151. Ação de graças de Davi. Eu era o menor entre meus irmãos, e jovem na casa de meu pai.

1Psalm 151. A Thanksgiving of David. I was the youngest among my brethren, and a youth in my father's house.

2Eu apascentava o rebanho de meu pai, e achei um leão e um lobo, e os matei e os despedacei.

2I used to feed my father's flock, and I found a lion and a wolf, and slew them and rent them.

3As minhas mãos fizeram um órgão, e os meus dedos formaram uma harpa.

3My hands made an organ, and my fingers fashioned a harp.

4Quem me mostrará o meu Senhor? Ele, o meu Senhor, tornou-se o meu Deus.

4Who will show me my Lord? He, my Lord, is become my God.

5Enviou o seu anjo e me tirou do rebanho de meu pai, e me ungiu com o óleo da unção.

5He sent His angel and took me away from my father's flock, and anointed me with the oil of anointing.

6Meus irmãos, os formosos e os altos, neles o Senhor não se agradou.

6My brethren, the fair and the tall, in them the Lord had no pleasure.

7E saí ao encontro do filisteu, e ele me amaldiçoou pelos seus ídolos.

7And I went forth to meet the Philistine, and he cursed me by his idols.

8Mas eu arranquei a sua espada e lhe cortei a cabeça, e tirei o opróbrio dos filhos de Israel.

8But I drew his sword and cut off his head, and took away the reproach from the children of Israel.
