1Salmo 153. Dito por Davi ao dar graças a Deus, que o livrara do leão e do lobo, e ele matara a ambos. Louvai ao Senhor, todas as nações; glorificai-o e bendizei o seu nome,

1Psalm 153. Spoken by David when returning thanks to God, who had delivered him from the lion and the wolf and he had slain both of them. Praise the Lord, all ye nations; glorify Him, and bless His name:

2o qual resgatou a alma do seu escolhido das mãos da morte, e livrou o seu santo da destruição;

2Who rescued the soul of His elect from the hands of death, and delivered His holy one from destruction:

3e me salvou das redes do Seol, e a minha alma da cova que não se pode sondar.

3and saved me from the nets of Sheol, and my soul from the pit that cannot be fathomed.

4Porque, antes que o meu livramento saísse de diante dele, eu estive a ponto de ser partido em dois pedaços por duas feras.

4Because, ere my deliverance could go forth from before Him, I was well nigh rent in two pieces by two wild beasts.

5Mas ele enviou o seu anjo, e fechou diante de mim as bocas escancaradas, e resgatou a minha vida da destruição.

5But He sent His angel, and shut up from me the gaping mouths, and rescued my life from destruction.

6A minha alma o glorificará e o exaltará, por todas as suas benignidades que me fez e me fará.

6My soul shall glorify Him and exalt Him, because of all His kindnesses which He hath done and will do unto me.
