Salmos de Salomão 1

1Clamei ao Senhor quando estava em angústia, A Deus quando os pecadores me assaltaram.

1I cried unto the Lord when I was in distress, Unto God when sinners assailed.

2De repente o alarme de guerra foi ouvido diante de mim; (Eu disse:) Ele me atenderá, pois estou cheio de justiça.

2Suddenly the alarm of war was heard before me; (I said), He will hearken to me, for I am full of righteousness.

3Pensei no meu coração que estava cheio de justiça, Porque eu estava bem de vida e tinha enriquecido em filhos.

3I thought in my heart that I was full of righteousness, Because I was well off and had become rich in children.

4A riqueza deles se espalhou por toda a terra, E a sua glória até o fim da terra.

4Their wealth spread to the whole earth, And their glory unto the end of the earth.

5Foram exaltados até as estrelas; Diziam que nunca cairiam.

5They were exalted unto the stars; They said they would never fall.

6Mas tornaram-se insolentes na sua prosperidade . . .

6But they became insolent in their prosperity . . .

7Os seus pecados eram em segredo, E eu mesmo não tinha conhecimento (deles).

7Their sins were in secret, And even I had no knowledge (of them).

8As suas transgressões (foram) além das dos gentios que os precederam; Poluíram por completo as coisas santas do Senhor.

8Their transgressions (went) beyond those of the heathen before them; They utterly polluted the holy things of the Lord.
