Salmos de Salomão 13

1A mão direita do Senhor me cobriu; A mão direita do Senhor nos poupou.

1The right hand of the Lord hath covered me; The right hand of the Lord hath spared us.

2O braço do Senhor nos salvou da espada que passou, Da fome e da morte dos pecadores.

2The arm of the Lord hath saved us from the sword that passed through, From famine and the death of sinners.

3Feras nocivas correram sobre eles: Com os dentes lhes despedaçaram a carne, E com os molares lhes esmagaram os ossos. Mas de todas estas coisas o Senhor nos livrou.

3Noisome beasts ran upon them: With their teeth they tore their flesh, And with their molars crushed their bones. But from all these things the Lord delivered us.

4O justo se perturbou por causa dos seus erros, Temendo ser arrebatado junto com os pecadores;

4The righteous was troubled on account of his errors, Lest he should be taken away along with the sinners;

5Pois terrível é a ruína do pecador; Mas nenhuma de todas estas coisas toca o justo. Pois não são iguais a correção do justo (por pecados cometidos) por ignorância, E a ruína dos pecadores.

5For terrible is the overthrow of the sinner; But not one of all these things toucheth the righteous. For not alike are the chastening of the righteous (for sins done) in ignorance, And the overthrow of the sinners.

6Em segredo (?) é o justo corrigido, Para que o pecador não se alegre sobre o justo.

6Secretly (?) is the righteous chastened, Lest the sinner rejoice over the righteous.

7Pois ele corrige o justo como a um filho amado, E o seu castigo é como o de um primogênito.

7For He correcteth the righteous as a beloved son, And his chastisement is as that of a firstborn.

8Pois o Senhor poupa os seus piedosos, E apaga os seus erros pela sua correção.

8For the Lord spareth His pious ones, And blotteth out their errors by His chastening.

9Pois a vida do justo será para sempre; Mas os pecadores serão levados à destruição, E o seu memorial não se achará mais.

9For the life of the righteous shall be for ever; But sinners shall be taken away into destruction, And their memorial shall be found no more.

10Mas sobre os piedosos está a misericórdia do Senhor, E sobre os que o temem a sua misericórdia.

10But upon the pious is the mercy of the Lord, And upon them that fear Him His mercy.
