Salmos de Salomão 3

1Por que dormes, ó minha alma, E não bendizes ao Senhor?

1Why sleepest thou, O my soul, And blessest not the Lord?

2Canta um cântico novo, A Deus, que é digno de ser louvado. Canta e sê vigilante para o seu despertar, Pois bom é um salmo (cantado) a Deus de um coração alegre.

2Sing a new song, Unto God who is worthy to be praised. Sing and be wakeful against His awaking, For good is a psalm (sung) to God from a glad heart.

3Os justos se lembram do Senhor em todo tempo, Com ação de graças e declaração da justiça dos juízos do Senhor.

3The righteous remember the Lord at all times, With thanksgiving and declaration of the righteousness of the Lord's judgements.

4O justo não despreza a correção do Senhor; A sua vontade está sempre diante do Senhor.

4The righteous despiseth not the chastening of the Lord; His will is always before the Lord.

5O justo tropeça e reconhece o Senhor como justo: Cai e espera o que Deus fará com ele;

5The righteous stumbleth and holdeth the Lord righteous: He falleth and looketh out for what God will do to him;

6Procura de onde lhe virá o livramento.

6He seeketh out whence his deliverance will come.

7A firmeza do justo vem de Deus, seu libertador; Não pousa na casa do justo pecado sobre pecado.

7The steadfastness of the righteous is from God their deliverer; There lodgeth not in the house of the righteous sin upon sin.

8O justo examina continuamente a sua casa, Para remover por completo (toda) iniquidade (cometida) por ele por erro.

8The righteous continually searcheth his house, To remove utterly (all) iniquity (done) by him in error.

9Faz expiação pelos (pecados de) ignorância com jejum e aflição da sua alma, E o Senhor tem por inocente todo homem piedoso e a sua casa.

9He maketh atonement for (sins of) ignorance by fasting and afflicting his soul, And the Lord counteth guiltless every pious man and his house.

10O pecador tropeça e amaldiçoa a sua vida, O dia em que foi gerado, e as dores de parto da sua mãe.

10The sinner stumbleth and curseth his life, The day when he was begotten, and his mother's travail.

11Acrescenta pecados a pecados, enquanto vive (?); Cai--é deveras grave a sua queda--e não se levanta mais.

11He addeth sins to sins, while he liveth (?); He falleth--verily grievous is his fall--and riseth no more.

12A destruição do pecador é para sempre, E não será lembrado, quando o justo for visitado.

12The destruction of the sinner is for ever, And he shall not be remembered, when the righteous is visited.

13Esta é a porção dos pecadores para sempre.

13This is the portion of sinners for ever.

14Mas os que temem ao Senhor se levantarão para a vida eterna, E a sua vida (estará) na luz do Senhor e não terá mais fim.

14But they that fear the Lord shall rise to life eternal, And their life (shall be) in the light of the Lord, and shall come to an end no more.
