Salmos de Salomão 9

1Quando Israel foi levado cativo para uma terra estranha, Quando se afastaram do Senhor que os redimira, Foram lançados fora da herança que o Senhor lhes tinha dado. Entre todas as nações (estavam) os dispersos de Israel segundo a palavra de Deus, Para que fosses justificado, ó Deus, na tua justiça por causa das nossas transgressões: Pois tu és um juiz justo sobre todos os povos da terra.

1When Israel was led away captive into a strange land, When they fell away from the Lord who redeemed them, They were cast away from the inheritance, which the Lord had given them. Among every nation (were) the dispersed of Israel according to the word of God, That Thou mightest be justified, O God, in Thy righteousness by reason of our transgressions: For Thou art a just judge over all the peoples of the earth.

2Pois do teu conhecimento ninguém que age injustamente se oculta, E as obras justas dos teus piedosos (estão) diante de ti, ó Senhor; Onde, então, pode um homem esconder-se do teu conhecimento, ó Deus?

2For from Thy knowledge none that doeth unjustly is hidden, And the righteous deeds of Thy pious ones (are) before Thee, O Lord; Where, then, can a man hide himself from Thy knowledge, O God?

3As nossas obras estão sujeitas à nossa própria escolha e poder Para fazer o certo ou o errado nas obras das nossas mãos; E na tua justiça visitas os filhos dos homens.

3Our works are subject to our own choice and power To do right or wrong in the works of our hands; And in Thy righteousness Thou visitest the sons of men.

4Aquele que pratica a justiça acumula vida para si junto ao Senhor; E aquele que age mal perde a sua vida para a destruição; Pois os juízos do Senhor são (dados) em justiça a (cada) homem e (a sua) casa.

4He that doeth righteousness layeth up life for himself with the Lord; And he that doeth wrongly forfeits his life to destruction; For the judgements of the Lord are (given) in righteousness to (every) man and (his) house.

5A quem és bom, ó Deus, senão aos que invocam o Senhor? Ele purifica dos pecados uma alma quando faz confissão, quando faz reconhecimento;

5Unto whom art Thou good, O God, except to them that call upon the Lord? He cleanseth from sins a soul when it maketh confession, when it maketh acknowledgement;

6Pois a vergonha está sobre nós e sobre os nossos rostos por causa de todas estas coisas.

6For shame is upon us and upon our faces on account of all these things.

7E a quem perdoa ele os pecados, senão aos que pecaram? Abençoas o justo e não o repreendes pelos pecados que cometeu; E a tua bondade está sobre os que pecam, quando se arrependem.

7And to whom doth He forgive sins, except to them that have sinned? Thou blessest the righteous, and dost not reprove them for the sins that they have committed; And Thy goodness is upon them that sin, when they repent.

8E, agora, tu és o nosso Deus, e nós o povo que amaste: Olha e mostra piedade, ó Deus de Israel, pois somos teus; E não retires de nós a tua misericórdia, para que não nos assaltem.

8And, now, Thou art our God, and we the people whom Thou hast loved: Behold and show pity, O God of Israel, for we are Thine; And remove not Thy mercy from us, lest they assail us.

9Pois escolheste a semente de Abraão acima de todas as nações, E puseste o teu nome sobre nós, ó Senhor, E não nos rejeitarás para sempre.

9For Thou didst choose the seed of Abraham before all the nations, And didst set Thy name upon us, O Lord, And Thou wilt not reject (us) for ever.

10Fizeste aliança com os nossos pais a nosso respeito; E esperamos em ti, quando a nossa alma se voltar (para ti).

10Thou madest a covenant with our fathers concerning us; And we hope in Thee, when our soul turneth (unto Thee).

11Esteja a misericórdia do Senhor sobre a casa de Israel para sempre e sempre.

11The mercy of the Lord be upon the house of Israel for ever and ever.
