Salmos 127

1Cântico dos degraus, de Salomão: Se o SENHOR não estiver edificando a casa, em vão trabalham nela seus construtores; se o SENHOR não estiver guardando a cidade, em vão o guarda vigia.

1A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2Inutilmente levantais de madrugada e descansais tarde, para comerdes o pão de dores; porque assim ele dá sono a quem ele ama.

2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3Eis que os filhos são um presente do SENHOR; o fruto do ventre é uma recompensa.

3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4Como flechas na mão do guerreiro, assim são os filhos da juventude.

4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5Bem-aventurado é o homem que enche deles seu porta-flechas; eles não serão envergonhados, quando falarem com os inimigos à porta.

5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
