Salmos 2

1Por que as nações se rebelam, e os povos planejam em vão?

1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2Os reis da terra se levantam, e os governantes tomam conselhos reunidos contra o SENHOR, e contra seu Ungido, dizendo:

2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3Rompamos as correntes deles, e lancemos fora de nós as cordas deles.

3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4Aquele que está sentado nos céus rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5Então ele lhes falará em sua ira; em seu furor ele os assombrará, dizendo:

5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6E eu ungi a meu Rei sobre Sião, o monte de minha santidade.

6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7E eu declararei o decreto do SENHOR: Ele me disse: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei.

7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança, e por tua propriedade os confins da terra.

8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9Com cetro de ferro tu as quebrarás; como vaso de oleiro tu as despedaçarás;

9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10Portanto agora, reis, sede prudentes; vós, juízes da terra, deixai serdes instruídos.

10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11Servi ao SENHOR com temor; e alegrai-vos com tremor.

11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12Beijai ao Filho, para que ele não se ire, e pereçais no caminho; porque em breve a ira dele se acenderá. Bem-aventurados são todos os que nele confiam.

12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
