Salmos 76

1Salmo e cântico de Asafe, para o regente, com instrumentos de cordas: Deus é conhecido em Judá; grande é o seu nome em Israel.

1To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

2E em Salém está seu tabernáculo, e sua morada em Sião.

2In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

3Ali ele quebrou as flechas do arco; o escudo, a espada, e a guerra. (Selá)

3There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

4Tu és mais ilustre e glorioso que montes de presas.

4Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5Os ousados de coração foram despojados; dormiram seu sono; e dos homens valentes, nenhum encontrou poder em suas mãos.

5The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

6Por tua repreensão, ó Deus de Jacó, carruagens e cavalos caíram no sono da morte.

6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7Tu, terrível és tu; e quem subsistirá perante ti com tua ira?

7Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8Desde os céus tu anunciaste o juízo; a terra tremeu, e se aquietou,

8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

9Quando Deus se levantou para o julgamento, para salvar a todos os mansos da terra. (Selá)

9When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10Porque a ira humana serve para o teu louvor; com o restante da ira te cingirás.

10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

11Fazei votos, e os pagai ao SENHOR vosso Deus; todos os que estão ao redor dele tragam presentes ao Temível.

11Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12Ele cortará o espírito dos governantes; ele é temível aos reis da terra.

12He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
