1And now be humbling yourselves to God with repentance for your sins, and sin no more.

2Thus, thou shalt not kill with the sword, thou shalt not kill with the tongue, thou shalt not commit adultery with thy body, thou shalt not keep anger until the setting of the sun, and thou shalt not take to thyself vain praise.

3Thou shalt not rejoice at the fall of thine enemies nor of thy brethren; thou shalt not revile; beware of slander.

4Look not upon a woman with thine eye with lust; beware of these sins and what resembles them; take ye heed that ye may be delivered every one of you from the wrath which shall be revealed from heaven.

5And as for the multitudes that surrounded them, when they heard this they cried out all together, saying, Verily right and true is all which this righteous old man hath spoken.

6Ele calou-se, e devolveram-lhe o manto, e cobriram-lhe o rosto.

6He was silent, and the cloak was returned to him, and they covered his face.

7And as for the assembly and the priest who was present, they were silent and said, Let him rest for a little.

8Then came to him the Angel of God, and took him to the heavens and shewed him things in fear, and many wild beasts having left sides, and all their sides were joined (as. brethren) so that they could not look one upon another; and their faces were as the faces of camels; others had as it were the faces of dogs, and others as it were the faces of lions and hysnas and leopards, and others had only one eye.

9“I saw terrible things and many kinds (A gap.) making signs to one another on every side like brethren, (but) unable to wait for one another "

10Disse: Vi, e eis que trouxeram um homem, apressando-o.

10He said, I saw and behold they brought in a man " hurrying him along.

11And when they came to the lions, those who were conducting him departed from him.

12Then the lions turned upon him and rent him in the midst and divided him limb by limb and gnawed him and swallowed him.

13And after this they cast him forth from their mouths and he returned to his former state.

14And after the lions the other beasts came and they did the same to him.

15Tomaram-no uma após outra, e cada uma delas o roeu, engolindo-o e lançando-o fora, e ele voltava de cada vez à sua condição anterior.

15They took him one after the other, and everyone of them gnawed him, swallowing him. and casting him forth and he returned each time to his former condition.
