Testamento de Jacó 2
Português e inglês lado a lado
1And they that dwelt in the house heard him confessing the Lord and giving glory unto Him with blessings.
2And all his children gathered together unto him, from their least unto their greatest, weeping all of them and being in grief of heart, because he was about to depart and leave them; and they said unto him: 'O our beloved father, what shall we do, for we are sojourners, dwelling in a foreign land?'
3Jacob said unto them: 'Fear not, for God is He that appeared unto me in Mesopotamia, saying: I am the God of thy father; fear not, I am with thee for ever and with thy seed after thee for ever; the land whereon thou standest, I will give it unto thee and unto thy seed for ever.'
4'And furthermore He said unto me: Fear not to go down into Egypt; I will go down with thee into Egypt, and I will cause thee to multiply, and thy seed shall blossom for ever, and Joseph shall lay his hands upon thine eyes, and thy people shall multiply in Egypt exceedingly.'
5'After these things they shall return unto Me in this place, and I will do good unto them for thy sake; now therefore ye shall be removed out of this place.'
6And after these things, the days of Jacob Israel drew near that he should depart from the body; and he called Joseph and said unto him in this manner: 'If now I have found grace in thy sight, put thy blessed hand under my thigh, and swear unto me an oath before the Lord, that thou wilt bury my body in the burying-place of my fathers.'
7E José disse-lhe: 'Farei conforme a tua palavra, ó meu piedoso pai.'
7And Joseph said unto him: 'I will do according to thy word, O my godly father.' His father said unto him: 'I desire that thou swear.' And Joseph swore unto Jacob his father according to these words, that he would carry his body unto the sepulchre of his fathers; and Jacob bowed himself upon the neck of his son.
