Tobias 11

1Depois destas coisas, Tobias seguiu o seu caminho, louvando a Deus por lhe ter dado próspera viagem, e abençoou Raguel e Edna, sua mulher, e seguiu o seu caminho até se aproximarem de Nínive.

1After these things Tobias went his way, praising God that he had given him a prosperous journey, and blessed Raguel and Edna his wife, and went on his way till they drew near unto Nineve.

2Então Rafael disse a Tobias: Sabes, irmão, em que estado deixaste teu pai.

2Then Raphael said to Tobias, Thou knowest, brother, how thou didst leave thy father:

3Apressemo-nos adiante de tua mulher e preparemos a casa.

3Let us haste before thy wife, and prepare the house.

4E toma na mão o fel do peixe. Assim seguiram o seu caminho, e o cão ia atrás deles.

4And take in thine hand the gall of the fish. So they went their way, and the dog went after them.

5Ora, Ana estava sentada, olhando para o caminho, à espera de seu filho.

5Now Anna sat looking about toward the way for her son.

6E, quando o avistou vindo, disse ao pai dele: Eis que vem teu filho e o homem que foi com ele.

6And when she espied him coming, she said to his father, Behold, thy son cometh, and the man that went with him.

7Então Rafael disse: Eu sei, Tobias, que teu pai abrirá os olhos.

7Then said Raphael, I know, Tobias, that thy father will open his eyes.

8Unge, pois, os olhos dele com o fel, e, sentindo a ardência, ele os esfregará, e a brancura cairá, e ele te verá.

8Therefore anoint thou his eyes with the gall, and being pricked therewith, he shall rub, and the whiteness shall fall away, and he shall see thee.

9Então Ana correu e se lançou ao pescoço de seu filho, e lhe disse: Já que te vi, meu filho, de agora em diante posso morrer contente. E ambos choraram.

9Then Anna ran forth, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said unto him, Seeing I have seen thee, my son, from henceforth I am content to die. And they wept both.

10Também Tobit saiu em direção à porta e tropeçou; mas seu filho correu para ele,

10Tobit also went forth toward the door, and stumbled: but his son ran unto him,

11e segurou seu pai, e aplicou o fel nos olhos de seu pai, dizendo: Tem boa esperança, meu pai.

11And took hold of his father: and he strake of the gall on his father’s eyes, saying, Be of good hope, my father.

12E, quando os olhos começaram a arder, ele os esfregou;

12And when his eyes began to smart, he rubbed them;

13e a brancura se desprendeu dos cantos dos seus olhos; e, quando viu seu filho, lançou-se ao seu pescoço.

13And the whiteness pilled away from the corners of his eyes: and when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck.

14E chorou, e disse: Bendito és tu, ó Deus, e bendito é o teu nome para sempre, e benditos são todos os teus santos anjos;

14And he wept, and said, Blessed art thou, O God, and blessed is thy name for ever; and blessed are all thine holy angels:

15pois me castigaste e tiveste compaixão de mim; pois eis que vejo meu filho Tobias. E o filho entrou alegre e contou a seu pai as grandes coisas que lhe tinham acontecido na Média.

15For thou hast scourged, and hast taken pity on me: for, behold, I see my son Tobias. And his son went in rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.

16Então Tobit saiu ao encontro de sua nora, à porta de Nínive, alegrando-se e louvando a Deus; e os que o viam andar se maravilhavam, porque recobrara a vista.

16Then Tobit went out to meet his daughter in law at the gate of Nineve, rejoicing and praising God: and they which saw him go marvelled, because he had received his sight.

17E Tobias deu graças diante deles, porque Deus tivera misericórdia dele. E, quando se aproximou de Sara, sua nora, abençoou-a, dizendo: Sê bem-vinda, filha; bendito seja Deus, que te trouxe a nós, e benditos sejam teu pai e tua mãe. E houve alegria entre todos os seus irmãos que estavam em Nínive.

17But Tobias gave thanks before them, because God had mercy on him. And when he came near to Sara his daughter in law, he blessed her, saying, Thou art welcome, daughter: God be blessed, which hath brought thee unto us, and blessed be thy father and thy mother. And there was joy among all his brethren which were at Nineve.

18E vieram Aquiacar e Nasbas, filho de seu irmão.

18And Achiacharus, and Nasbas his brother’s son, came:

19E as bodas de Tobias foram celebradas durante sete dias, com grande alegria.

19And Tobias’ wedding was kept seven days with great joy.
