Tobias 13

1Então Tobit escreveu uma oração de alegria, e disse: Bendito seja Deus, que vive para sempre, e bendito seja o seu reino.

1Then Tobit wrote a prayer of rejoicing, and said, Blessed be God that liveth for ever, and blessed be his kingdom.

2Pois ele castiga e tem misericórdia; conduz ao Hades e de lá faz subir; e não há quem possa escapar da sua mão.

2For he doth scourge, and hath mercy: he leadeth down to hell, and bringeth up again: neither is there any that can avoid his hand.

3Louvai-o diante dos gentios, filhos de Israel; porque ele nos dispersou entre eles.

3Confess him before the Gentiles, ye children of Israel: for he hath scattered us among them.

4Ali anunciai a sua grandeza, e exaltai-o diante de todos os viventes; porque ele é o nosso Senhor, e é Deus, nosso Pai, para sempre.

4There declare his greatness, and extol him before all the living: for he is our Lord, and he is the God our Father for ever.

5E ele nos castigará pelas nossas iniquidades, e terá misericórdia de novo, e nos reunirá de todas as nações entre as quais nos dispersou.

5And he will scourge us for our iniquities, and will have mercy again, and will gather us out of all nations, among whom he hath scattered us.

6Se vos converterdes a ele de todo o vosso coração e de toda a vossa alma, e procederdes com retidão diante dele, então ele se voltará para vós e não esconderá de vós o seu rosto. Vede, pois, o que ele fará convosco, e louvai-o com toda a vossa boca, e louvai o Senhor da força, e exaltai o Rei eterno. Na terra do meu cativeiro eu o louvo, e anuncio a sua força e a sua majestade a uma nação pecadora. Ó pecadores, convertei-vos e praticai a justiça diante dele: quem sabe se ele vos aceitará e terá misericórdia de vós?

6If ye turn to him with your whole heart, and with your whole mind, and deal uprightly before him, then will he turn unto you, and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and extol the everlasting King. In the land of my captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O ye sinners, turn and do justice before him: who can tell if he will accept you, and have mercy on you?

7Exaltarei o meu Deus, e a minha alma louvará o Rei do céu, e se alegrará na sua grandeza.

7I will extol my God, and my soul shall praise the King of heaven, and shall rejoice in his greatness.

8Falem todos os homens, e louvem-no todos pela sua justiça.

8Let all men speak, and let all praise him for his righteousness.

9Ó Jerusalém, cidade santa, ele te castigará pelas obras de teus filhos, e terá misericórdia de novo dos filhos dos justos.

9O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge thee for thy children’s works, and will have mercy again on the sons of the righteous.

10Louvai o Senhor, porque ele é bom; e louvai o Rei eterno, para que o seu tabernáculo seja de novo edificado em ti com alegria, e alegre em ti os que estão cativos, e ame em ti para sempre os que são miseráveis.

10Give praise to the Lord, for he is good: and praise the everlasting King, that his tabernacle may be builded in thee again with joy, and let him make joyful there in thee those that are captives, and love in thee for ever those that are miserable.

11Muitas nações virão de longe ao nome do Senhor Deus, com presentes nas mãos, presentes ao Rei do céu; todas as gerações te louvarão com grande alegria.

11Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God with gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven; all generations shall praise thee with great joy.

12Malditos todos os que te odeiam, e benditos serão para sempre todos os que te amam.

12Cursed are all they which hate thee, and blessed shall all be which love thee for ever.

13Alegra-te e regozija-te pelos filhos dos justos; porque serão reunidos e bendirão o Senhor dos justos.

13Rejoice and be glad for the children of the just: for they shall be gathered together, and shall bless the Lord of the just.

14Ó bem-aventurados os que te amam, porque se alegrarão na tua paz; bem-aventurados os que se entristeceram por todos os teus castigos, porque se alegrarão por ti, quando virem toda a tua glória, e se regozijarão para sempre.

14O blessed are they which love thee, for they shall rejoice in thy peace: blessed are they which have been sorrowful for all thy scourges; for they shall rejoice for thee, when they have seen all thy glory, and shall be glad for ever.

15Bendiga a minha alma a Deus, o grande Rei.

15Let my soul bless God the great King.

16Pois Jerusalém será edificada com safiras e esmeraldas e pedras preciosas; os teus muros, e as tuas torres, e as tuas ameias, com ouro puro.

16For Jerusalem shall be built up with sapphires and emeralds, and precious stone: thy walls and towers and battlements with pure gold.

17E as ruas de Jerusalém serão pavimentadas com berilo, e carbúnculo, e pedras de Ofir.

17And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl and carbuncle and stones of Ophir.

18E todas as suas ruas dirão: Aleluia; e o louvarão, dizendo: Bendito seja Deus, que a exaltou para sempre.

18And all her streets shall say, Alleluia; and they shall praise him, saying, Blessed be God, which hath extolled it for ever.
