Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 4

1Depois disso, passava ele de novo pela aldeia; e um menino correu de encontro a ele e feriu-lhe o ombro.

1After that He was again passing through the village; and a boy ran up against Him, and struck His shoulder.

2E Jesus irou-se e disse-lhe: Não voltarás pelo caminho por onde vieste.

2And Jesus was angry, and said to him: Thou shalt not go back the way thou camest.

3E imediatamente ele caiu morto.

3And immediately he fell down dead.

4E alguns que viram o que acontecera disseram: De onde foi gerado este menino, que cada palavra sua se cumpre sem falta?

4And some who saw what had taken place, said: Whence was this child begotten, that every word of his is certainly accomplished?

5E os pais do menino morto foram a José e o censuraram, dizendo: Já que tens tal filho, é impossível que vivas conosco na aldeia; ou então ensina-o a abençoar, e não a amaldiçoar: pois ele está matando os nossos filhos.

5And the parents of the dead boy went away to Joseph, and blamed him, saying: Since thou hast such a child, it is impossible for thee to live with us in the village; or else teach him to bless, and not to curse: for he is killing our children.
