Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 9

1E alguns dias depois, Jesus estava brincando no andar de cima de certa casa, e uma das crianças que brincavam com ele caiu da casa e morreu.

1And some days after, Jesus was playing in an upper room of a certain house, and one of the children that were playing with Him fell down from the house, and was killed.

2E, quando as outras crianças viram isso, fugiram, e só Jesus ficou parado.

2And, when the other children saw this, they ran away, and Jesus alone stood still.

3E os pais da criança morta, chegando, repreenderam-no ...e o ameaçaram.

3And the parents of the dead child coming, reproached ...and they threatened Him.

4E Jesus saltou do telhado, e pôs-se junto ao corpo da criança, e clamou em alta voz, e disse: Zenão--pois era esse o seu nome--levanta-te e diz-me; fui eu que te joguei lá de cima?

4And Jesus leaped down from the roof, and stood beside the body of the child, and cried with a loud voice, and said: Zeno--for that was his name--stand up, and tell me; did I throw thee down?

5E ele levantou-se imediatamente e disse: De modo algum, meu senhor; tu não me derrubaste, mas me levantaste.

5And he stood up immediately, and said: Certainly not, my lord; thou didst not throw me down, but hast raised me up.

6E os que viram isso ficaram tomados de assombro.

6And those that saw this were struck with astonishment.

7E os pais da criança glorificaram a Deus pelo milagre que acontecera, e adoraram Jesus.

7And the child's parents glorified God on account of the miracle that had happened, and adored Jesus.
