1Depois que Adão completou novecentos e trinta anos, sabendo que os seus dias estavam chegando ao fim, disse: 'Reúnam-se junto a mim todos os meus filhos, para que eu os abençoe antes de morrer e fale com eles.'

1After Adam was nine hundred and thirty years old, since he knew that his days were coming to an end, he said: 'Let all my sons assemble themselves to me, that I may bless them before I die, and speak with them.'

2E reuniram-se em três divisões, diante de seus olhos, na casa de oração onde costumavam adorar o Senhor Deus. E perguntaram-lhe, dizendo: 'Que tens, Pai, para nos congregares, e por que jazes em teu leito?' Então Adão respondeu e disse: 'Meus filhos, estou enfermo e em dores.' E todos os seus filhos lhe disseram: 'Que significa, pai, esta enfermidade e dor?'

2And they were assembled in three parts, before his sight, in the house of prayer, where they used to worship the Lord God.
