1Obadias, o profeta: era de Siquém, do campo de Betacarão.

1Obadiah the prophet: he was from Shechem, from the field of Bethacharam.

2Este é o terceiro capitão de cinquenta, a quem Elias, o tesbita, poupou; e desceu e foi ter com o rei.

2This is the third captain of fifty, whom Elijah the Tishbite spared; and he went down and came to the king.

3E depois destas coisas, deixando o seu posto real, apegou-se ao profeta Elias e tornou-se seu discípulo; e, tendo suportado muitas coisas por causa dele, foi preservado; e, tendo morrido, foi sepultado no campo de Betacarão com os seus pais.

3And after these things, leaving his royal rank, he attached himself to the prophet Elijah and became his disciple; and having endured many things for his sake, he was preserved; and having died he was buried in the field of Bethacharam with his fathers.
