Vidas dos Profetas 6

1Eliseu, o profeta: era de Abelmut, da terra de Rubim.

1Elisha the prophet: he was from Abelmouth, of the land of Roubim.

2E por ocasião do seu nascimento houve um prodígio: quando nasceu em Gilgal, a novilha de ouro em Siló mugiu agudamente, de modo que foi ouvida em Jerusalém.

2And a portent occurred at his birth: when he was born in Galgala, the golden heifer in Shiloh bellowed sharply, so that it was heard in Jerusalem.

3E o sacerdote disse, por meio do Urim, que naquele dia nascera um profeta, que derrubaria as imagens esculpidas e despedaçaria as fundidas.

3And the priest said, by means of the Urim, that a prophet had been born that day, who would overthrow the graven images and shatter the molten ones.

4E Deus operou muitos prodígios pela mão de Eliseu; e, tendo morrido, foi sepultado em Samaria, em Sebastópolis.

4And God wrought many wonders by the hand of Elisha; and having died he was buried in Samaria, in Sebastopolis.

5Profetizou acerca da vinda do Senhor.

5He prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord.

6E as águas de Jericó, que eram estéreis, isto é, salobras, curou, dizendo: “Assim diz o Senhor: Eu curo estas águas.”

6And the waters of Jericho, which were barren, that is, brackish, he healed, saying: "Thus says the Lord: I heal these waters."

7E foram curadas até o dia de hoje.

7And they were healed unto this very day.

8E ressuscitou mortos, e purificou da lepra Naamã, o sírio, e fez que Geazi, seu servo, se tornasse leproso.

8And he raised the dead, and cleansed Naaman the Syrian of his leprosy, and made Gehazi his servant become a leper.

9E, estando ele mesmo morto, ressuscitou um morto.

9And being dead himself, he raised a dead man.
