2 Clemente 12

1Aguardemos, pois, a cada instante o reino de Deus em amor e justiça, porquanto não sabemos o dia da manifestação de Deus.

1Let us therefore await the kingdom of God betimes in love and righteousness, since we know not the day of God's appearing.

2Pois o próprio Senhor, sendo interrogado por certa pessoa acerca de quando viria o Seu reino, disse: Quando os dois forem um, e o de fora for como o de dentro, e o homem com a mulher, nem homem nem mulher.

2For the Lord Himself, being asked by a certain person when his kingdom would come, said, When the two shall be one, and the outside as the inside, and the male with the female, neither male or female.

3Ora, os dois são um quando falamos a verdade entre nós, e em dois corpos haverá uma só alma sem fingimento.

3Now the two are one, when we speak truth among ourselves, and in two bodies there shall be one soul without dissimulation.

4E por o de fora como o de dentro Ele quer dizer isto: pelo de dentro refere-se à alma, e pelo de fora ao corpo. Portanto, assim como o teu corpo se manifesta, assim também seja manifesta a tua alma por suas boas obras.

4And by the outside as the inside He meaneth this: by the inside he meaneth the soul and by the outside the body. Therefore in like manner as thy body appeareth, so also let thy soul be manifest by its good works.

5E por o homem com a mulher, nem homem nem mulher, Ele entende isto: que um irmão, ao ver uma irmã, não tenha pensamento algum para com ela como mulher, e que uma irmã, ao ver um irmão, não tenha pensamento algum para com ele como homem.

5And by the male with the female, neither male nor female, he meaneth this; that a brother seeing a sister should have no thought of her as a female, and that a sister seeing a brother should not have any thought of him as a male.

6Se praticardes estas coisas, diz Ele, virá o reino de Meu Pai.

6These things if ye do, saith He, the kingdom of my father shall come.
