1No terceiro dia ordenei à terra que fizesse crescer árvores grandes e frutíferas, e colinas, e semente para semear, e plantei o Paraíso, e o cerquei, e coloquei como guardas armados anjos flamejantes, e assim criei a renovação.

1On the third day I commanded the earth to make grow great and fruitful trees, and hills, and seed to sow, and I planted Paradise, and enclosed it, and placed as armed (guardians) flaming angels, and thus I created renewal.

2Então veio a tarde, e veio a manhã, o quarto dia.

2Then came evening, and came morning the fourth day.

3[Quarta-feira]. No quarto dia ordenei que houvesse grandes luzes nos círculos celestes.

3[Wednesday]. On the fourth day I commanded that there should be great lights on the heavenly circles.

4No primeiro círculo, o mais alto, coloquei as estrelas, Kruno, e no segundo Afrodit, no terceiro Aris, no quinto Zoues, no sexto Ermis, no sétimo, menor, a lua, e a adornei com as estrelas menores.

4On the first uppermost circle I placed the stars, Kruno, and on the second Aphrodit, on the third Aris, on the fifth Zoues, on the sixth Ermis, on the seventh lesser the moon, and adorned it with the lesser stars.

5E no mais baixo coloquei o sol para a iluminação do dia, e a lua e as estrelas para a iluminação da noite.

5And on the lower I placed the sun for the illumination of day, and the moon and stars for the illumination of night.

6Ordenei que o sol andasse segundo cada constelação, doze, e estabeleci a sucessão dos meses, os seus nomes e vidas, os seus trovões e as suas marcações de hora, como deviam suceder-se.

6The sun that it should go according to each constellation, twelve, and I appointed the succession of the months and their names and lives, their thunderings, and their hour-markings, how they should succeed.

7Então veio a tarde e veio a manhã, o quinto dia.

7Then evening came and morning came the fifth day.

8[Quinta-feira]. No quinto dia ordenei ao mar que produzisse peixes, e aves emplumadas de muitas espécies, e todos os animais que rastejam sobre a terra, que andam sobre a terra em quatro patas, e que voam no ar, de sexo masculino e feminino, e toda alma que respira o espírito de vida.

8[Thursday]. On the fifth day I commanded the sea, that it should bring forth fishes, and feathered birds of many varieties, and all animals creeping over the earth, going forth over the earth on four legs, and soaring in the air, male sex and female, and every soul breathing the spirit of life.

9E veio a tarde, e veio a manhã, o sexto dia.

9And there came evening, and there came morning the sixth day.

10[Sexta-feira]. No sexto dia ordenei à minha sabedoria que criasse o homem de sete consistências: uma, a sua carne da terra; duas, o seu sangue do orvalho; três, os seus olhos do sol; quatro, os seus ossos da pedra; cinco, a sua inteligência da rapidez dos anjos e da nuvem; seis, as suas veias e o seu cabelo da erva da terra; sete, a sua alma do meu sopro e do vento.

10[Friday]. On the sixth day I commanded my wisdom to create man from seven consistencies: one, his flesh from the earth; two, his blood from the dew; three, his eyes from the sun; four, his bones from stone; five, his intelligence from the swiftness of the angels and from cloud; six, his veins and his hair from the grass of the earth; seven, his soul from my breath and from the wind.

11E dei-lhe sete naturezas: à carne o ouvir, aos olhos a vista, à alma o olfato, às veias o tato, ao sangue o paladar, aos ossos a resistência, à inteligência a doçura [o gozo].

11And I gave him seven natures: to the flesh hearing, the eyes for sight, to the soul smell, the veins for touch, the blood for taste, the bones for endurance, to the intelligence sweetness [enjoyment].

12Concebi uma palavra astuta para dizer: criei o homem da natureza invisível (espiritual) e da visível (física); de ambas são a sua morte, e vida, e imagem; ele conhece a fala como uma coisa criada, pequeno na grandeza e de novo grande na pequenez, e o coloquei na terra, um segundo anjo, honrado, grande e glorioso, e o constituí governante para governar na terra e ter a minha sabedoria, e não havia ninguém como ele na terra entre todas as minhas criaturas existentes.

12I conceived a cunning saying to say, I created man from invisible (spiritual) and from visible (physical) nature, of both are his death and life and image, he knows speech like some created thing, small in greatness and again great in smallness, and I placed him on earth, a second angel, honourable, great and glorious, and I appointed him as ruler to rule on earth and to have my wisdom, and there was none like him of earth of all my existing creatures.

13E lhe dei um nome, a partir das quatro partes componentes, do oriente, do ocidente, do sul, do norte, e designei para ele quatro estrelas especiais, e chamei o seu nome Adão, e mostrei-lhe os dois caminhos, a luz e as trevas, e lhe disse:

13And I appointed him a name, from the four component parts, from east, from west, from south, from north, and I appointed for him four special stars, and I called his name Adam, and showed him the two ways, the light and the darkness, and I told him:

14Isto é bom, e aquilo mau, para que eu saiba se ele tem amor por mim ou ódio, a fim de que fique claro quais da sua raça me amam.

14This is good, and that bad, that I should learn whether he has love towards me, or hatred, that it be clear which in his race love me.

15Pois vi a sua natureza, mas ele não viu a sua própria natureza; por isso, (por) não ver, pecará pior, e eu disse: Depois do pecado (que há) senão a morte?

15For I have seen his nature, but he has not seen his own nature, therefore (through) not seeing he will sin worse, and I said After sin (what is there) but death?

16E pus sono nele e ele adormeceu. E tomei dele uma costela, e criei para ele uma mulher, para que a morte lhe viesse por meio da sua mulher, e tomei a sua última palavra e chamei o seu nome mãe, isto é, Eva.

16And I put sleep into him and he fell asleep. And I took from him A rib, and created him a wife, that death should come to him by his wife, and I took his last word and called her name mother, that is to say, Eva (Eve).
