Apocalipse de Paulo 30

1E eu disse ao anjo: Senhor, que é Aleluia?

1And I said to the angel: Sir, what is Alleluia?

2E o anjo respondeu e disse-me: Fazes perguntas sobre tudo.

2And the angel answered and said to me: You ask questions about everything.

3E disse-me: Aleluia diz-se na língua hebraica de Deus e dos anjos, pois o significado de Aleluia é este: tecel cat. marith macha.

3And he said to me, Alleluia is said in the Hebrew language of God and angels, for the meaning of Alleluia is this: tecel cat. marith macha.

4E eu disse: Senhor, que é tecel cat. marith macha?

4And I said, Sir, what is tecel cat. marith macha?

5E o anjo respondeu e disse-me: Tecel cat. marith macha é: Bendigamo-lo todos juntos.

5And the angel answered and said unto me: Tecel cat. marith macha is: Let us all bless him together.

6Perguntei ao anjo e disse: Senhor, todos os que dizem Aleluia bendizem ao Senhor?

6I asked the angel and said, Sir, do all who say Alleluia bless the Lord?

7E o anjo respondeu e disse-me: Assim é, e de novo, portanto, se alguém canta Aleluia e os que estão presentes não cantam ao mesmo tempo, cometem pecado porque não cantam junto com ele.

7And the angel answered and said to me: It is so, and again, therefore, if any one sing Alleluia and those who are present do not sing at the same time, they commit sin because they do not sing along with him.

8E eu disse: Meu senhor, peca também ele se estiver hesitante ou muito velho?

8And I said: My lord, does he also sin if he be hesitating or very old?

9O anjo respondeu e disse-me: Não assim, mas aquele que é capaz e não se junta ao canto, sabe que é desprezador da Palavra, e seria soberbo e indigno que não bendissesse ao Senhor Deus seu criador.

9The angel answered and said unto me: Not so, but he who is able and does not join in the singing, know such as a despiser of the Word, and it would be proud and unworthy that he should not bless the Lord God his maker.
