Ester (Grego) 10

1Depois disto impôs o rei Assuero tributo sobre a terra, e sobre as ilhas do mar.

1And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.

2E todos os atos do seu poder e do seu valor, e o relato da grandeza de Mardoqueu, a quem o rei exaltou, porventura não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis da Média e da Pérsia?

2And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3Porque o judeu Mardoqueu foi o segundo depois do rei Assuero, e grande entre os judeus, e estimado pela multidão de seus irmãos, procurando o bem do seu povo, e proclamando a prosperidade de toda a sua descendência.

3For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

4Então Mardoqueu disse: Deus fez estas coisas.

4Then Mardocheus said, God hath done these things.

5Pois me lembro de um sonho que tive acerca destes acontecimentos, e nada dele deixou de se cumprir.

5For I remember a dream which I saw concerning these matters, and nothing thereof hath failed.

6A pequena fonte que se tornou um rio, e havia luz, e sol, e muita água: este rio é Ester, com quem o rei se casou e a quem fez rainha.

6A little fountain became a river, and there was light, and the sun, and much water: this river is Esther, whom the king married, and made queen:

7E os dois dragões somos eu e Amã.

7And the two dragons are I and Aman.

8E as nações são as que se reuniram para destruir o nome dos judeus.

8And the nations were those that were assembled to destroy the name of the Jews:

9E a minha nação é este Israel, que clamou a Deus e foi salvo; porque o Senhor salvou o seu povo, e o Senhor nos livrou de todos estes males, e Deus operou sinais e grandes prodígios, quais nunca se fizeram entre as nações.

9And my nation is this Israel, which cried to God, and were saved: for the Lord hath saved his people, and the Lord hath delivered us from all those evils, and God hath wrought signs and great wonders, which have not been done among the Gentiles.

10Por isso fez duas sortes: uma para o povo de Deus e outra para todas as nações.

10Therefore hath he made two lots, one for the people of God, and another for all the Gentiles.

11E estas duas sortes chegaram na hora, no tempo e no dia do juízo, diante de Deus, entre todas as nações.

11And these two lots came at the hour, and time, and day of judgment, before God among all nations.

12Assim Deus se lembrou do seu povo e fez justiça à sua herança.

12So God remembered his people, and justified his inheritance.

13Por isso estes dias serão para eles, no mês de Adar, no décimo quarto e no décimo quinto dia do mesmo mês, dias de assembleia, de gozo e de alegria diante de Deus, de geração em geração, para sempre, no meio do seu povo.

13Therefore those days shall be unto them in the month Adar, the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the same month, with an assembly, and joy, and with gladness before God, according to the generations for ever among his people.
