Evangelho de Nicodemos 11

1E era cerca da hora sexta, e houve trevas sobre a terra até a hora nona, pois o sol se escureceu: e o véu do templo rasgou-se pelo meio. E Jesus clamou em alta voz e disse: Pai, baddach ephkid rouel, que se interpreta: Nas Tuas mãos entrego o Meu espírito. E tendo dito isto, expirou. E quando o centurião viu o que se fez, glorificou a Deus, dizendo: Este homem era justo. E todas as multidões que tinham vindo ao espetáculo, quando viram o que se fez, bateram nos peitos e voltaram.

1And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the land until the ninth hour, for the sun was darkened: and the veil of the temple was rent asunder in the midst. And Jesus called with a loud voice and said: Father, baddach ephkid rouel, which is interpreted: Into thy hands I commend my spirit. And having thus said he gave up the ghost. And when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying: This man was righteous. And all the multitudes that had come to the sight, when they beheld what was done smote their breasts and returned.

2Mas o centurião relatou ao governador as coisas que tinham acontecido: e quando o governador e a sua mulher ouviram, ficaram muito aflitos, e nem comeram nem beberam naquele dia. E Pilatos mandou chamar os judeus e lhes disse: Vistes o que aconteceu? Mas eles disseram: Houve um eclipse do sol, como de costume.

2But the centurion reported unto the governor the things that had come to pass: and when the governor and his wife heard, they were sore vexed, and neither ate nor drank that day. And Pilate sent for the Jews and said unto them: Did ye see that which came to pass? But they said: There was an eclipse of the sun after the accustomed sort.

3E os Seus conhecidos tinham ficado ao longe, e as mulheres que com Ele tinham vindo da Galileia, contemplando estas coisas. Mas um certo homem chamado José, sendo conselheiro, da cidade de Arimateia, que também ele mesmo esperava o reino de Deus, este foi a Pilatos e pediu o corpo de Jesus. E tirou-o da cruz e envolveu-o num lençol limpo de linho e depositou-o num sepulcro talhado na rocha, no qual ainda homem algum tinha sido posto.

3And his acquaintance had stood afar off, and the women which came with him from Galilee, beholding these things. But a certain man named Joseph, being a counsellor, of the city of Arimathaea, who also himself looked for the kingdom of God this man went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in a hewn sepulchre wherein was never man yet laid.
