1Visto, pois, que todas as coisas têm termo, e que estas duas — a vida e a morte — nos são postas diante de nós juntamente, cada homem irá para o seu próprio lugar;

1Seeing then that all things have an end, and these two -- life and death -- are set before us together, and each man shall go to his own place;

2pois assim como há duas moedas, uma de Deus e outra do mundo, e cada uma delas tem o seu próprio cunho gravado em si, os incrédulos o cunho deste mundo, mas os fiéis no amor o cunho de Deus Pai por meio de Jesus Cristo, pelo qual, a não ser que por nossa livre vontade aceitemos morrer na Sua paixão, a Sua vida não estará em nós: —
