Inácio aos Romanos 3

1Jamais invejastes a ninguém; antes, fostes mestres de outros. E desejo que prevaleçam aquelas instruções que como mestres ordenais.

1Ye never grudged any one; ye were the instructors of others. And my desire is that those lessons shall hold good which as teachers ye enjoin.

2Suplicai tão-somente para mim poder interior e exterior, para que não apenas o declare, mas também o deseje; para que não apenas seja chamado cristão, mas seja achado tal. Pois se for achado tal, então poderei também ser chamado assim, e ser tido por fiel quando já não for mais visível ao mundo.

2Only pray that I may have power within and without, so that I may not only say it but also desire it; that I may not only be called a Christian, but also be found one. For if I shall be found so, then can I also be called one, and be faithful then, when I am no more visible to the world.

3Nada do que é visível é bom. Pois o nosso Deus, Jesus Cristo, estando no Pai, manifesta-se mais claramente. A Obra não reside na persuasão humana, mas o cristianismo é obra de poder, quando quer que seja odiado pelo mundo.

3Nothing visible is good. For our God Jesus Christ, being in the Father, is the more plainly visible. The Work is not of persuasiveness, but Christianity is a thing of might, whensoever it is hated by the world.
