Odes de Salomão 18

1O meu coração foi elevado e enriquecido no amor do Altíssimo; Para que eu o louvasse pelo meu nome.

1My heart was lifted up and enriched in the love of the Most High; That I might praise Him by my name.

2Os meus membros foram fortalecidos Para que não caíssem do seu poder.

2My members were strengthened That they might not fall from His power.

3A doença retirou-se do meu corpo, E ficou de pé pelo Senhor por sua vontade; Pois o seu Reino é firme.

3Sickness removed from my body, And it stood for the Lord by His will; For His Kingdom is firm.

4Ó Senhor, por causa dos que são deficientes, Não me prives da tua palavra:

4O Lord, for the sake of them that are deficient, Do not deprive me of thy word:

5Nem, por causa das suas obras, Retenhas de mim a tua perfeição.

5Nor, for the sake of their works, Do thou restrain from me thy perfection.

6Não seja a luminária vencida pela escuridão; Nem fuja a verdade da falsidade.

6Let not the luminary be conquered by the darkness; Nor let truth flee away from falsehood.

7Leve a tua mão direita a nossa salvação à vitória, E receba de todas as partes, E preserve quem quer que seja afetado pelos males.

7Let thy right hand bring our salvation to victory, And receive from all quarters, And preserve whomsoever is affected by ills.

8A falsidade e a Morte não estão na tua boca, meu Deus; Mas a tua vontade é perfeição.

8Falsehood and Death are not in thy mouth, my God; But thy will is perfection.

9E a vaidade tu não a conheces, Pois nem ela te conhece.

9And vanity thou knowest not, For neither doth it know thee.

10E o erro tu não o conheces, Pois nem ele te conhece.

10And error thou knowest not, For neither doth it know thee.

11E a ignorância apareceu como pó, E como a escuma do mar:

11And ignorance appeared like dust, And like the scum of the sea:

12E gente vã supôs que era (algo) grande; E vieram a parecer-se com ela e tornaram-se vãos:

12And vain people supposed that it was (something) great; And they came to resemble it and became vain:

13E os sábios entenderam e meditaram (nisso), E não foram contaminados nas suas meditações; Pois tais estavam na mente do Senhor.

13And the wise understood and meditated (thereon), And were unpolluted in their meditations; For such were in the mind of the Lord.

14E zombaram dos que andavam no erro:

14And they mocked at those who were walking in error:

15E da sua parte falaram a verdade, Da inspiração que o Altíssimo soprou neles.

15And on their part they spake truth, From the inspiration which the Most High breathed into them.

16Louvor e grande formosura ao seu nome. Aleluia.

16Praise and great comeliness to His name. Hallelujah.
