Odes de Salomão 19

1Ofereceram-me um copo de leite; E bebi-o na doçura do deleite do Senhor.

1A cup of milk was offered to me; And I drank it in the sweetness of the delight of the Lord.

2O Filho é o copo, E aquele que foi ordenhado é o Pai; E aquele que o ordenhou é o Espírito Santo.

2The Son is the cup, And He who was milked is the Father; And He who milked Him is the Holy Spirit.

3Porque os seus seios estavam cheios; E não convinha que o seu leite fosse derramado em vão.

3Because His breasts were full; And it was not desirable that His milk should be spilt to no purpose.

4E o Espírito Santo abriu o seu seio E misturou o leite dos dois seios do Pai, E deu a mistura ao mundo sem que o soubessem: E os que a tomam estão na plenitude da mão direita.

4And the Holy Spirit opened His bosom And mingled the milk of the two breasts of the Father, And gave the mixture to the world without their knowing: And those who take (it) are in the fulness of the right hand.

5O ventre da Virgem a recebeu E ela recebeu a concepção e deu à luz:

5The womb of the Virgin took (it) And she received conception and brought forth:

6E a Virgem tornou-se mãe com grande misericórdia;

6And the Virgin became a mother with great mercy;

7E teve as dores e deu à luz um Filho sem sofrer dor: Pois não aconteceu sem propósito;

7And she travailed and brought forth a Son without incurring pain: For it did not happen without purpose;

8E ela não precisou de parteira, Pois ele a livrou.

8And she had not required a midwife, For He delivered her.

9E deu à luz, como um homem, pela vontade (de Deus): E deu-o à luz com demonstração E adquiriu-o com grande dignidade;

9And she brought forth, as a man, by (God's) will: And she brought (Him) forth with demonstration And acquired (Him) with great dignity;

10E amou-o em redenção; E guardou-o com bondade; E mostrou-o em majestade. Aleluia.

10And loved (Him) in redemption; And guarded (Him) kindly; And showed (Him) in majesty. Hallelujah.
