Odes de Salomão 24

1A Pomba voou sobre a cabeça do nosso Senhor, o Messias, Porque ele era a sua cabeça;

1The Dove flew over the head of our Lord the Messiah, Because He was her head;

2E cantou sobre ele, E ouviu-se a sua voz:

2And she sang over Him, And her voice was heard:

3E os habitantes se atemorizaram, E os forasteiros tremeram;

3And the inhabitants were afraid, And the sojourners trembled;

4As aves tomaram voo, E todos os répteis morreram nas suas tocas.

4The birds took to flight, And all creeping things died in their holes.

5E os abismos foram abertos e fechados; E buscavam o Senhor, como (mulheres) em parto:

5And the abysses were opened and closed; And they were seeking for the Lord, like (women) in travail:

6E ele não lhes foi dado por alimento Porque não lhes pertencia:

6And He was not given to them for food Because He did not belong to them:

7E os abismos foram submersos na submersão do Senhor: E pereceram no pensamento em que tinham existido desde o princípio.

7And the abysses were submerged in the submersion of the Lord: And they perished in the thought which they had existed in from the beginning.

8Pois tiveram dores de parto desde o princípio, E o fim das suas dores foi a vida.

8For they travailed from the beginning, And the end of their travail was life.

9E todo aquele que era deficiente pereceu; Pois não lhes foi permitido fazer defesa por si mesmos para que permanecessem:

9And every one of them that was defective perished; For it was not permitted to them to make a defence for themselves that they might remain:

10E o Senhor destruiu as imaginações De todos os que não tinham a verdade consigo;

10And the Lord destroyed the imaginations Of all them that had not the truth with them;

11Pois eram deficientes em sabedoria, Eles que se ensoberbeciam nos seus corações.

11For they were defective in wisdom, They who were lifted up in their hearts.

12E foram rejeitados, Porque a verdade não estava com eles.

12And they were rejected, Because the truth was not with them.

13Pois o Senhor revelou o seu caminho, E espalhou a sua graça;

13For the Lord disclosed His way, And spread abroad His grace;

14E os que o compreenderam Conhecem a sua santidade. Aleluia.

14And those who understood it Know His holiness. Hallelujah.
