Odes de Salomão 38

1Subi à Luz da Verdade como a um carro: E a Verdade me guiou e me trouxe:

1I went up into the Light of Truth as into a chariot: And the Truth led me and brought me:

2E levou-me através de vales e abismos, E dos penhascos e recifes me preservou;

2And carried me across hollows and gulfs, And from the cliffs and reefs it preserved me;

3E tornou-se para mim um Porto de Salvação; E pôs-me nos braços da vida imortal.

3And became to me a Haven of Salvation; And set me on the arms of immortal life.

4E foi comigo e me fez repousar e não permitiu que eu errasse; Porque era e é a Verdade;

4And it went with me and made me rest and suffered me not to err; Because it was and is the Truth;

5E não corri risco porque andei com ele; E não errei em coisa alguma, porque lhe obedeci.

5And I ran no risk because I walked with Him; And I made no error in anything, because I obeyed Him.

6Pois o Erro fugiu dele: E não o quis encontrar:

6For Error fled away from Him: And would not meet Him:

7Mas a Verdade prosseguia pelo caminho reto; E o que eu não sabia ele me esclarecia:

7But Truth was proceeding in the right way; And whatever I did not know He made clear to me:

8Todas as drogas do Erro e as pragas da morte que são tidas por doce (bebida).

8All the drugs of Error and the plagues of death which are considered to be sweet (beverage).

9E vi o Destruidor do Corruptor quando a Noiva que estava sendo corrompida foi adornada, Junto com o Noivo que corrompe e é corrompido.

9And I saw the Destroyer of the Corruptor when the Bride who was being corrupted was adorned, Along with the Bridegroom who corrupts and is corrupted.

10E perguntei à Verdade: Quem são estes? e ele me disse: Este é o Enganador e o Erro:

10And I asked the Truth, Who are these? and He said to me: This is the Deceiver and the Error:

11E imitam o Amado e a sua Noiva: E desencaminham e corrompem o mundo.

11And they imitate the Beloved and His Bride: And they lead astray and corrupt the world.

12E convidam muitos ao Banquete, E lhes dão a beber do vinho da sua embriaguez;

12And they invite many to the Banquet, And give them to drink of the wine of their intoxication;

13E os fazem vomitar a sua sabedoria e inteligência; E os privam de entendimento;

13And they make them vomit up their wisdom and intelligence; And they deprive them of understanding;

14E depois os deixam; E assim estes andam como loucos e corrompidos; Pois não têm coração; E não o procuram.

14And then they leave them; And so these go about like madmen and corrupt; Since they are without heart; And do not seek after it.

15E fui feito sábio para não cair nas mãos do Enganador; E congratulei-me de que a Verdade tinha ido comigo;

15And I was made wise so as not to fall into the hands of the Deceiver; And I congratulated myself that the Truth had gone with me;

16E fui estabelecido e vivi e fui redimido; E os meus fundamentos foram postos pelo Senhor; Pois ele me plantou.

16And I was established and lived and was redeemed; And my foundations were laid by the Lord; For He planted me.

17Pois ele pôs a raiz: E regou-a e fixou-a e abençoou-a: E os seus frutos serão para sempre.

17For He set the root: And watered it and fixed it and blessed it: And its fruits will be for ever.

18Aprofundou-se e brotou e espalhou-se largamente, E era plena e foi ampliada.

18It struck deep and sprang up and spread wide, And it was full and was enlarged.

19E só o Senhor foi glorificado, Na sua plantação e na sua lavoura:

19And the Lord alone was glorified, In His planting and His husbandry:

20No seu cuidado e na bênção dos seus lábios; Na bela plantação da sua mão direita.

20In His care and in the blessing of His lips; In the beautiful planting of His right hand.

21E no esplendor da sua plantação, E no pensamento da sua mente. Aleluia.

21And in the splendour of His planting, And in the thought of His mind. Hallelujah.
