Odes de Salomão 42

1Estendi as minhas mãos e aproximei-me do meu Senhor; Pois o estender das minhas mãos é o seu sinal;

1I stretched out my hands and approached my Lord; For the stretching out of my hands is His sign;

2E a minha expansão é o madeiro estendido Que foi erguido no caminho do Justo.

2And my expansion is the outspread wood That was set up on the way of the Righteous One.

3E tornei-me inútil para os que me conheciam: Pois esconder-me-ei dos que não me agarraram:

3And I became of no use to those who knew me: For I shall hide myself from those who did not take hold of me:

4Mas estarei com os que me amam.

4But I will be with those Who love me.

5Todos os meus perseguidores morreram; E procuraram-me os que falaram de mim; Porque estou vivo.

5All my persecutors have died; And they sought after me who proclaimed about me; Because I am alive.

6E levantei-me e estou com eles; E falarei pela sua boca.

6And I rose up and am with them; And I will speak by their mouths.

7Pois desprezaram os que os perseguem. E lancei sobre eles o jugo do meu amor:

7For they have despised those who persecute them. And I threw over them the yoke of my love:

8Como o braço do noivo sobre a noiva, Assim é o meu jugo sobre os que me conhecem.

8Like the arm of the bridegroom over the bride, So is my yoke over those that know me.

9E como o leito que é estendido nas câmaras do noivo e da noiva, Assim é o meu amor sobre os que creem em mim.

9And as the couch that is spread in the chambers of the bridegroom and the bride, So is my love over those that believe in me.

10Não fui rejeitado, embora fosse tido por tal; E não pereci, embora o pensassem de mim.

10I was not rejected, though I was reckoned to be so; And I did not perish though they thought it of me.

11O Xeol me viu e ficou em aflição; A Morte me lançou fora e muitos junto comigo:

11Sheol saw me and was in distress; Death cast me up and many along with me:

12Fui fel e amargura para ele, E desci com ele até o extremo da sua profundeza.

12I have been gall and bitterness to it, And I went down with it to the extreme of its depth.

13E os pés e a cabeça ele largou, Pois não foi capaz de suportar o meu rosto:

13And the feet and the head it let go, For it was not able to endure my face:

14E fiz uma congregação de homens vivos entre os seus mortos; E falei com eles por lábios vivos: Para que a minha palavra não seja vã.

14And I made a congregation of living men amongst his dead men; And I spake with them by living lips: In order that my word may not be void.

15E os que tinham morrido correram para mim; E clamaram e disseram: Filho de Deus, tem piedade de nós;

15And those who had died ran towards me; And they cried and said, Son of God, have pity on us;

16E faze conosco segundo a tua bondade; E tira-nos das cadeias da escuridão:

16And do with us according to thy kindness; And bring us out from the bonds of darkness:

17E abre-nos a porta Por onde sairemos a ti; Pois percebemos que a nossa morte não te toca.

17And open to us the door By which we shall come out to thee; For we perceive that our death does not touch thee.

18Sejamos também salvos contigo; Pois tu és o nosso Salvador.

18Let us also be saved with thee; For thou art our Saviour.

19E ouvi a sua voz, E guardei a sua fé no meu coração;

19And I heard their voice, And I laid up their faith in my heart;

20E pus o meu nome sobre as suas cabeças: Pois são homens livres e são meus. Aleluia.

20And I set my name upon their heads: For they are free men and they are mine. Hallelujah.
