Testamento de Isaque 4

1No princípio dirás esta ação de graças, precisamente esta, a Deus, que não é compreendido, que não pode ser esquadrinhado, o Senhor do Poder, o Tesouro da Pureza.

1At the beginning thou shalt say this thanksgiving, even this, to God Who is not comprehended, Who cannot be searched out, the Lord of Might, the Treasury of Purity.

2Purifica-me pela tua misericórdia, pela tua livre bondade para comigo, porque sou uma coisa de carne e sangue que foge para Ti.

2Cleanse me by Thy mercy, of thy free bounty upon me, for I am a thing of flesh and blood fleeing to Thee.

3E conheço a minha imundície, e purifica-me Tu, ó Senhor!

3And I know my filthiness and do Thou cleanse me, O Lord!

4Pois eis que a minha causa está entregue a Ti, e a Ti me acolho por refúgio.

4For lo! my cause is committed unto Thee, and to Thee I flee for refuge.

5Conheço os meus pecados; purifica-me, pois, ó Senhor, para que eu entre na tua presença com modéstia.

5I know my sins, so cleanse me, O Lord, that I may enter into Thy presence with modesty.

6Agora os meus pecados são pesados.

6Now are my sins heavy.

7Estou perto do fogo que arde.

7I am near to the fire that burneth.

8A tua misericórdia está sobre todas as coisas; tira todas as minhas transgressões! Perdoa-me, a mim, o pecador!

8Thy mercy is upon all things; take away all my trespasses! forgive me, even me the sinner!

9E perdoa a todas as Tuas criaturas que criaste, que não obedecem e não têm a fé; e quanto a mim, entristeço-me por todo aquele que traz a Tua imagem e me encontra, e para ele estão os meus olhos.

9And forgive all Thy creatures whom Thou hast created who obey not and have not the faith; and as for me, I am grieved for everyone bearing Thine image who meets me’, and towards him are my eyes.

10Vim a Ti, e sou o Teu servo, e sou filho da Tua serva, o pecador; e Tu és Aquele que perdoa; perdoa-me pela Tua livre bondade, e ouve o meu pedido, para que eu seja tido por digno de adorar no Teu santo altar.

10I have come to Thee, and I am Thy servant, and I am the son of Thy handmaid, the sinner; And Thou art the forgiving One, forgive me of Thy free bounty, and hear my request that I may be deemed worthy to worship at Thy holy altar.

11Seja esta oferta queimada aceita diante de Ti.

11Let this burnt offering be acceptable with Thee.

12Não me entregues à minha ignorância por causa dos meus pecados; recebe-me como ovelha perdida.

12Give me not over to mine ignorance because of my sins; receive me like a lost sheep.

13O Deus que guiou nosso pai Adão, e Abel, e Noé, e Nosso Pai Abraão, estará contigo, ó Jacó, e estará outra vez comigo; recebendo (?) de mim a minha oferta.

13The God Who led our father Adam and Abel and Noah and our Father Abraham shall be with thee, O Jacob, and shall be with me again; receiving (?) my offering from me.

14E quando te tiveres aproximado e feito isto antes de subires ao altar, então oferece as tuas ofertas.

14And when thou hast drawn near and hast done this before ascending the altar, then offer thy offerings.

15E guarda-te, e toma cuidado para não entristeceres o Espírito do Senhor, porque o ofício do sacerdote não é fácil, e é exigido de todos os sacerdotes, deste dia até que se acabe a última das gerações e o mundo chegue ao fim, que não se encham de beber vinho, nem se fartem de comer pão, nem falem de coisas do mundo, nem escutem quem delas fala, mas gastem todas as suas atividades e a sua vida em oração, vigília e perseverança na vida religiosa, para que ele faça o seu pedido ao Senhor em paz.

15And beware and take heed that thou grieve not the Spirit of the Lord, for the priest’s office is not easy and it is required of all priests from this day till the last of the generations is finished and the world comes to an end, that they be not filled with drinking wine, and be not satisfied with eating bread, and speak not of matters of the world, and listen not to him who speaks of them, but spend all their activities and their life in prayer and watching and perseverance in the religious life, that he may make request to the Lord in peace.

16E é exigido de todo homem sobre a terra, seja miserável, seja afortunado, que guarde os testemunhos que foram designados.

16And it is required of every man upon the earth, be he miserable or be he fortunate, that he keep the testimonies that are appointed.

17Porque, dentro de pouco tempo, serão removidos deste mundo e das suas angústias penosas, e ocupar-se-ão no santo serviço angélico, por causa da sua pureza, e estarão na presença do Senhor e dos seus anjos, por causa das suas ofertas puras e do serviço angélico, porque o seu serviço terreno se assemelha à sua ocupação nos céus, e os anjos serão seus companheiros, por causa da sua fé perfeita e pureza.

17Because after a little time they shall be removed from this world and from its grievous anxieties, and shall be engaged in holy angelic service, because of their purity, and stand in the presence of the Lord and His angels because of their pure offerings and angelic service, because their earthly service resembles their occupation in the heavens, and the angels shall be their companions because of their perfect faith and purity.

18E grande é a sua honra na presença do Senhor, e não há pequeno nem grande a quem o Senhor não dê aumento, desejando que seja sem falta e sem pecado.

18And great is their honour in the presence of the Lord, and there is neither small nor great to whom the Lord will not give increase, desiring that he be without fault and without sin.
