Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 3

1E o filho de Anás, o escriba, estava ali com José; e tomou um ramo de salgueiro e deixou escoar as águas que Jesus tinha represado.

1And the son of Annas the scribe was standing there with Joseph; and he took a willow branch, and let out the waters which Jesus had collected.

2E Jesus, vendo o que se fizera, irou-se e disse-lhe: Ó perverso, ímpio e insensato! que mal te fizeram as poças e as águas?

2And Jesus, seeing what was done, was angry, and said to him: O wicked, impious, and foolish! what harm did the pools and the waters do to thee?

3Eis que agora mesmo secarás como uma árvore, e não darás nem folhas, nem raiz, nem fruto.

3Behold, even now thou shalt be dried up like a tree, and thou shalt not bring forth either leaves, or root, or fruit.

4E logo aquele menino secou por completo.

4And straightway that boy was quite dried up.

5E Jesus partiu e foi para a casa de José.

5And Jesus departed, and went to Joseph's house.

6Mas os pais do menino que secara tomaram-no, lamentando a sua juventude, e o levaram a José, e o repreenderam, dizendo eles: Tens um filho que faz tais coisas.

6But the parents of the boy that had been dried up took him up, bewailing his youth, and brought him to Joseph, and reproached him because, said they, thou hast such a child doing such things.
