Evangelho da Infância de Tomé 5

1E José chamou o menino à parte e o advertiu, dizendo: Por que fazes tais coisas, e essa gente sofre, e nos odeia, e nos persegue?

1And Joseph called the child apart, and admonished Him, saying: Why doest thou such things, and these people suffer, and hate us, and persecute us?

2E Jesus disse: Sei que estas palavras não são tuas; contudo, por causa de ti me calarei; mas eles levarão o seu castigo.

2And Jesus said: I know that these words of thine are not thine own; nevertheless for thy sake I will be silent; but they shall bear their punishment.

3E logo os que o acusavam ficaram cegos.

3And straightway those that accused Him were struck blind.

4E os que viram isso tiveram grande temor e grande perplexidade, e disseram a seu respeito: Toda palavra que ele disse, boa ou má, foi um ato, e se tornou um prodígio.

4And those who saw it were much afraid and in great perplexity, and said about Him: Every word which he spoke, whether good or bad, was an act, and became a wonder.

5E quando viram que Jesus tinha feito tal coisa, José levantou-se, tomou-lhe a orelha e puxou-a com força.

5And when they saw that Jesus had done such a thing, Joseph rose and took hold of His ear, and pulled it hard.

6E o menino irou-se muito e disse-lhe: Basta que procures e não encontres; e certamente não agiste com sabedoria.

6And the child was very angry, and said to him: It is enough for thee to seek, and not to find; and most certainly thou hast not done wisely.

7Não sabes que sou teu?

7Knowest thou not that I am thine?

8Não me incomodes.

8Do not trouble me.
