After this the multitude held their peace, that he might rest himself a little; and he was taken up into the heavens, that he might behold the places of rest.
And behold, a multitude of tormentors came forth, diverse in form every one of them, who were prepared to torment the sinners.
These are they that were tormented: the fornicator, and the harlot, and the effeminate, and they that defile themselves with mankind, and adulterers, and they that corrupt the creature of God, and the magician, and the sorcerer, and the extortioner, and the idolater, and the slanderer, and the defamer, and the double-tongued; in truth, for every sin which we have named, great is their punishment.
The unquenchable fire, and the outer darkness, and the place wherein shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, and the worm that sleepeth not.
And it is a fearful thing to be brought before the Judge, and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Woe unto every sinner among men, for whom these torments and these tormentors are prepared!
And moreover after these things he turned and showed me the place wherein my fathers dwell, Abraham and my father Isaac, which was all light, and they were rejoicing and making merry in the kingdom of the heavens, in the city of the Beloved.
And he showed me all the places of rest, and all the good things prepared for the righteous, which eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, which God hath prepared for them that love Him and for them that do His will upon earth, when they finish their course well, doing His will.
After these things Jacob said unto his sons: 'Behold, I am about to be taken away and gathered unto my people; lay my body with my people in the double cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite, wherein they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, and wherein they buried Isaac, in the field and the cave that is therein, which he purchased from the sons of Heth.'
And when Jacob had made an end of speaking these words, he gathered up his feet upon his bed, and departed from the body, after the manner of all men.
